Hey, check out what I did on Facebook today. I commented on Foreign Affairs minister, George Yeo's status again. It is less controversial than the previous time and my face is shown this time. Well, but I think it is still worth sharing with you all
About 8 hours later, there were 4 more idiots who talked to themselves because George Yeo will not reply to them anyway
We drawed lots during Oral Communication class today to decide the order of who first who last for our individual presentation next week. And I got the good news is I am not the first and the bad news is I will only have 1 person to look at before it's my turn
I ate the black pepper fried rice from the Indian stall today. Super spicy. Ate until I sweat like I had ran 20 kilometres. I will never try it again. Anyway, I helped Zhi Teng and Nas buy too. So it was $6 in total, I gave the Indian guy a $10 note and he changed me $5. He asked if I had $1 and I answered no. So he said "how about you return me another day" in an Indian slang, so I said ok. I returned at 2.30pm with eight 10cent coins and one 20cent coin. I passed him the money and he just dumped that into the cashier without counting and smiled at me saying I could have returned him another day
Now, what I am trying to say is this is commendable service that is endangered in Singapore. The Indian guy trusts his customer(who is me), that he will return with the one dollar. Also, he did not bother to count the coins I gave him which shows he believes I did not cheat him. Although the fried rice is really not nice(wow, it rhymes), the good service has more than made up for it
Did you watch the inauguration of Barack Obama last night(Singapore time)? For me, I was sleeping like a pig/log/corpse/stone etc at that time. If you had watched it, may I know if you had seen anything interesting?

John McCain, the forgotten hero who was defeated at the hands of Obama in the elections, should be the most heartborken person watching the event provided if he did watch it. George Bush must have been really sad to leave the White House after spending 8 years in it and growing hair of the same colour as it. I mentioned that carparks would be flooded in Washington DC yesterday. According to what I read, there were some 2 million(or is it more?)people attending it. That would be so squeezy like how you kiasu-ly squeeze a whole chunk of the free flow chilli sauce onto your little disposable plastic plate at McDonald's and KFC

Another important thing of the day is that the Pet Society game in Facebook is a craze in my class. Well, not everyone of course but the majority are guys! I have been racing at the stadium for many days but there is still inadequate money for me to buy new clothes for my pet to celebrate Chinese New Year. P.S. I want to buy the expensive kind one, it is not branded because there is no brand at all
Zhi Teng is still abnormal today but not as hyper-active as yesterday because Nas is back. This means my Raymond theorem is a little wrong. So I shall change it to...

My classmate is a little abnormal today. Maybe because another classmate of mine did not come to school, that's why he was unusually hyper-active for the day. The first person is Zhi Teng and the second is Nas. So in short, Nas did not come to school which resulted in Zhi Teng being hyper-active. Sounds like a Chain Rule right? When the lecturers asked me why Nas was absent, my reply is Standard. "He went to America to attend Obama's inauguration speech". You will probably take the time to sleep first and wake up at 4am to watch Manchester United vs Derby in the Carling Cup semi final. Well, but there will definitely be fans of him in our country who are willing to sacrifice their beauty sleep to catch their idol on TV
Obama has wonderful oratory skills and is a good speaker by nature. So watching him talk tonight may not be a disadvantage to one after all, you can pick up some tips from him and they may come in handy in the future. Your TV is yours, so it is up to you to decide

I had many brain cells killed today so on second thought, I shall make it simple
We were split into groups of two during the Data Comm lab lesson and were given a code that has letters all mixed up. We have to solve what the code means or rather what the whole passage is about

and many more lines, and you have to decipher what each letter stands for to solve. So "a" can be "r", "p" can be "n" etc. All other groups were using the(politically correct)trial and error method but I used my own method, the "English language" method. If given more time, I would have solved it(and had more brain cells killed)but it was fun anyway even though I did not figure it out in time. But I solved more than 60% of the letters(which means at least 15 out of 26 alphabets)on my own using my special(and unconventional)method so it is still a great achievement I think

It became larger and fatter after two minutes(I had taken a video but had there were some technical problems uploading it). And according to the instructions, there is supposed to be some "surprise". Other than people on the streets, we had a couple of special interviews with MPs who do not want to be named due to whatever reasons, of course
An MP who only wanted to be known as Ah Keng and said that he is from a GRC who has the PM's father in it as well believes that it is better to hire some plainclothes officers for MPs as well. He thinks that not only ministers should be "entitled" to have them. "Our nation should be fair to everyone, the finance department oops I mean the finance ministry should come up with some funds to hire bodyguards who can provide us with security, we are already so stressed" He added that he will turn residents down who approach him in public now more frequently to play safe
Another MP whom we spoke to requested us not to mention her name at all or she will sue us for slandering until we end up in jail and destroy all evidence before we can even use them to defend ourselves in court. We decided to play safe and not reveal anything that is related to her. She believes that if the government does not hire bodyguards for them, MPs will have to dig into their own pockets for the funds. "You can see, hear and read many MPs telling the press that they don't need bodyguards, but in fact, inside them they long to have one, two, three all even more. We are all politicians, we usually speak the opposite of what we want, that's our way of life"
Many lessons are learnt from this incident but the most important thing which we have discovered is that thinner is the new kerosene of burning. It produces more heat and maybe damage to the victim. As for costs, we leave it to you to find out
Recently this week, I have met many of my old classmates from secondary school in poly. I saw Jason on Tuesday in the library. Yesterday I saw Cheng Hao at Food Court 3. Today, it is a hat trick, I saw Samuel, Jian Nan and Nicholas, all in the span of twenty minutes at three different places. Sat at the same bench with Jian Nan during lunch and we talked while I was eating and he was playing Warcraft on his laptop. Found out that, like me, he had actually chosen football as his topic for the Oral Communication individual presentation too. Maybe it is a topic we are both too familiar with so it will be relatively easy for us to talk about it. Well, but he seriously needs a haircut. His hair is so long and he does not even bother to comb a single strand of it
When I went to bed last night, I thought of something which I think is worth thinking and debatable. Lying on the bed, I suddenly thought of Michael Phelps and Usain Bolt. They are two of the most prominent sportspeople last year and were in my 2008 top 10 sportspeople list. Ok, imagine this. If Phelps and Bolt are to compete against each other in a 100m race where they have to run in water that is up to the waist, who do you think will win? Phelps is a human fish and is invincible in the water while Bolt holds the 100m world record(running on the track)

While I was on the bus 147 on the way home, something amusing occurred. It involved the Indian bus driver and an old Indian female passenger. What happened was when the bus stopped at the Clementi Avenue 1 bus stop for passengers to alight and the doors closed, the Indian woman then dashed slowly to the exit. Upon seeing that the doors were closed with the "door closing" sign at the top flashing, she desperately pressed the bell but the Indian driver did not bother
He must have thought that it was some impatient passenger that he will encounter in his bus driving career who cannot wait to alight at the next stop. The bus continued to move and as the Indian woman realized that she is further and further away from her destination, she got frustrated. When the bus was about more than a hundred metres away from the Avenue 1 bus stop, she walked to the front where the bus driver was
At that time, the bus had stopped because of the traffic light. The Indian woman started scolding the driver. Needless to say, it was done in Tamil and the only Tamil words which I know are counting one to ten. Anyway, most of the passengers on board are Chinese and Malays, so everybody just stared at the front with curious faces, wondering what was she admonishing about.
Throughout the wait for the traffic light to turn green, I did not hear the driver talking, the woman was yelling all the way like it's her grandfather's bus. Obviously, it was not the driver's fault so choosing to remain silent and not argue was an effective not to blow things up. If he had argued with the woman, he might be unable to concentrate driving
That Indian woman should have stood at the exit doors about 15 seconds before the bus reached the bus stop. In the end, she had to alight at the next stop and walk about 15 minutes back to the previous one, considering her age and walking speed. I should have taken a photo and send it to STOMP but there were many people on board during then
Hope that the Indian woman will reflect about this incident and kaisu-ly stand at the exit door next time when she wants to alight
Another highlight of the day is regarding my China friend, Zhi Teng. He has applied for a Facebook account today. Sounds impossible right that he will actually have one? Well, he applied for it because he got hooked onto the Bowling Buddies game. He saw me playing it and I let him try it on my lappie and he was addicted to it
Then, when he first entered Facebook, he started searching for games to play. To him, Facebook is more of a gaming site than a social networking site. He was also obsessed with Pet Society which is one of my favourites too. He kept on playing the racing game at the stadium and we laughed like crazy together. Judging from the way he plays, he will have a bright future in Pet Society. Zhi Teng made me rediscover the pure fun of using the dull and mundane Facebook which I perceive nowadays

Sometimes, it is the rookies that show us, old birds, the basic joy of something. I read an article in my paper yesterday about this thing. The writer said that his mother watched football with him and asked why must teams have different formations like 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1 etc. She thinks that all teams should have a single standard formation and the real quality of the team should lie in the players themselves, that should be fundamental of football
I ate a very filling lunch which consisted of chicken rice with an egg, soup, two paos, one is lotus one is yam, and a whole cup of watermelon juice. This combination is definitely better than the Mega Mac from Mcdonald's, more filling and less costly.
Needless to say, those food which I gobbled up hypnotized me into a sleep mode during class. Well, this is not my first time like this and I managed to control myself. During Web Publishing lesson, I was installing the adobe photoshop on my lappie when it blue-screened and I was too lazy to switch the stupid acer computer on again. So I shall do it at home and hope it does not crash again
After class while walking out of school, I discussed with Zhi Teng about piracy in Singapore and China. He mentioned that China is more famous(infamous)for computer related stuff and I said that Singapore is better in VCDs. It's a tie, both countries are equally efficient in this
So we talked about how to solve this problem and I suggested that companies like adobe do not charge people so much for their software. The main reason why humans like you and family go for piracy is because of the original article's price. I told him that it is just like selling food in hawker centres. Which one will you choose, a $2 fishball noodle or a $3 one if you have yet to taste either before? The same idea can be applied to software, companies are just trying to earn as much money as they can from those good citizens who are willing to spend a lot than get pirated copies
In the end, we both agreed to one thing. Piracy will not dissappear because of society and the mentality people have
So I had predicted wrongly, Manchester United thrashed Chelsea 3:0. Actually, I did not predict wrongly in a whole, at least I mentioned that United will score in the first half but did not expect the Blues to be so disappointing. Now, if the red Devils win the two games they have yet to play, they will go on top of Liverpool and become first
Anyway, while I was starting to play the virtual Man U vs Chelsea on my laptop during lunchtime today, there was this man who tripped over my wire and the laptop blacked out. At first he said sorry to Nas as he was closer to where he tripped, I turned and took a look but did not bother. Upon turning my head back to the monitor and to my horror, the screen is all black and the power signal is off. I had been setting the formation and adjusting the position of players for some time and that man just ended everything with one leg
By then, he had already left and I can only switch my lappie on again and wait for it to load. Nas said that idiot could have walked on the other side of our bench where there is nothing blocking him let alone wires. This is the third time my computer got switched off by accident. The first two unlucky times were done by Nas. He switched off my computer when he wanted to switch his off instead since all our plugs were together and he got confused
