The Taiwan drama, Love (愛), will be broadcasted seven days per week on Channel 8 starting from 19th July. I can bravely say that this would be a start of Mediacorp's downfall. Two years later, you can return to this blog to look for this post and agree with what I had just said. 愛 has 800 episodes and it is into its 300-something one now

Of course, the main reason behind this decision is to save money. Yes, Mediacorp can definitely save a considerable amount with less productions. However, will it be able to save itself? With the emergence of the Internet, more and more youngsters from Gen Y are choosing to sit in front of their computers than the TV. The TV is slow and static. On the other hand, a computer allows you to pause, stop, replay videos and do multiple things at a time

愛's main audience are middle-aged and above uncles and aunties. Broadcasting this drama every night on weekdays will only encourage youngsters to abandon TV-watching. The older generation will be pleased with this arrangement but it is still a win-lose situation in a whole

Now, stop nagging us for sticking to the computer. You old hags are sticked to the TV!
