The 2010 AFF Suzuki Cup will start on the 1st of December. I would be giving quite a considerable amount of coverage on it because Singapore is one of the participants!
And they are going to win it for sure. (I always say this once every two years)
A quick glance at the groupings will tell you that Singapore was drawn into the easier group or rather drawn with easier opponents.
The legendary Lions are in Group B with Vietnam aka the super tai ko winners of the 2008 competition, Myanmar aka the kings of fouls and cheaters and Philippines aka the land of maids and call centre agents.
Groups A consists of Indonesia aka the ultra-suay runners-up of 3 times, Malaysia aka the hardly here nor there team, Thailand aka the one that will give everyone a hard time and Laos aka the team that will be happy if they can secure a draw.
Singapore's first match will be against the Philippines but it is the final Group B game on the 8th that most people look forward to.
The Lions play Vietnam and it would be a perfect opportunity for them to avenge their loss in the semi-final a couple of years back when some Vietnamese idiot scored the only goal of the match at Kallang and silenced the entire home crowd.
That's all for now. More coverage coming soon.
