2nd Anniversary

Time flies. No, I think it zooms. Without notice, this blog is already two years old. I debuted as a blogger in September 2008 and have written nearly 500 posts (the 500th one is coming really soon). I would like to take this opportunity to thank those who played a part in this little success of mine.

Qing Xiong
I suppose I have to say thank you to him first. I knew nothing about blogskins and tagboards back then. Yes, I picked the blogskin but if he didn't tell me where to find them, I would have been lost.

Not only the part on where to choose a template, I also had no idea how to use it for this blog. If I'm not wrong, he was the one who pasted it in Blogger for me. I trusted him so I gave him my password.

Unfortunately, there was some problem with it after three months so I switched to the current one you are seeing now. It looks too cool that I can't be bothered to change it again. P.S. changing blogskins takes up a lot of time too.

Oh yes, the tagboard. It's been the same old one ever since the first post appeared on this blog. However, I shamelessly declare that until now, I still don't know how to create one. Yeah, it's Qing Xiong who did it for me again.

Wai Yuen
I contemplated whether Nick or Wai Yuen deserved second spot and decided on the latter. Wai Yuen was the first person to tag in the tagboard and he did it even before I wrote my opening post.

He's been a great supporter of this blog with his frequent tags although they have significantly decreased. If you ask Wai Yuen to say one question that Raymond always asks him, it's gotta be "When will you start a blog?"

I can see that he has the potential to be a competent blogger. If he ever starts blogging one day, his blog would definitely be a direct challenger to mine in terms of readership.

Nick
Ever since I started blogging and he came tagging here, I started calling him Nick as if it is his real name. I just can't seem to call him Nicholas like how SNSD Sunny's fans won't call her Soonkyu. I think Nick is easier for lazy people like me who are too lazy to move their mouths.

Honestly, I cannot remember how Nick came to know of my blog (maybe you can tell me?). I only remembered "advertising" it to Wai Yuen and a few others from Tanglin. Nick is also a wonderful fan of this blog although his tags have also lessen lately.

Melvin
He debuted earlier than me in June 2008 and his blog has always been a reference area and inspiration corner whenever I need ideas. I did not copy his work of course (because I am a staunch devotee of Creativity) but there are some elements in it which makes it attractive.

He ever thanked me in his blog for being a loyal supporter or something like that so I shall reciprocate and thank him back here.

Teck Cheong
Well, I don't know what to say for you but thanks for subscribing this blog on your Google Feeds. And if you don't mind, tag more often

To everyone else out there reading
Come on, don't be a coward. Be brave and make your presence felt here but leaving a nice tag. You don't even need to pay for reading all the sweat and effort I forked out.

***

I do not believe in publicly advertising one's blog, that is, people who post their blog address on their MSN or make a Twitter update whenever they have a new post. That's too blunt. It shows the desperado side of you trying hard to sell your product.

In my perspective, blogs should be advertised through one's mouth. Like how your friend tells you this certain shop which sells cosmetics for a cheaper price. I need no publicity and never will.

I just need quality (and also quantity so that the blog doesn't look outdated). I will try my best and continue writing quality posts for you the reader. Thank you very much!

By the way, no gifts or tokens for those whom I thanked. Aiyah, you know lah, because this blog still got no sponsor mah!

Google Instant

Introducing.....*drums rolling*...Google Instant!

Google, the website everybody uses for shortcuts, is now instant like your Maggi, Myojo, Koka or Samyang Ramyeon.

Ok, I know I'm not very instant in sharing this news with you but it's still informative. Users can save up about three seconds for every search they make using this new enhancement.

I heard that Yahoo claims that it owns several patents of Google Instant as it launched a similar service back in 2005 called Instant Search.

However, words (or names) like Paris Hilton are blacklisted by Google Instant. Maybe because she's already attracted far too much limelight so they decided to leave her out.

I was wondering if Youtube would have a similar feature in the future.

2 plates of dumplings please!

The land of the rising sun and the land of Pests, Rascals, Cheats (P.R.C.) are having some disputes lately. Apparently, it's got to do with the sea. I shall not talk about the background story, you can go ascertain things on your own.

Anyway, I would like to give my two cents' worth about that guy in the picture above. He was the captain and also the last to be freed among all those captured.

He was eventually freed three days ago and received a warm welcome from fellow P.R.Cs when he returned to his country.

My first impression of this guy is that he looks qian bian (Chinese translation of calling for a punch). I believe the Nippons had planned to release all of them including the captain but held the latter back in the end.

This is not because he's captain but also due to the fact that he has a 100% genuine and authentic c_ _na face. Take a walk on the streets in Lion City and you will find many similar types of faces and nearly all speak with a certain irritating accent.

The Nippons might have felt that he looks thoroughly qian bian so they detained him for a longer period. Seems that native citizens of Lion City are not the only ones who detest this bunch of erm, should I call them humans?

But are putting melamine in milk powder or using diseased pigs for luncheon meat considered humane?

Spinning

Some people know that I have a talent of spinning books, files or anything flat with my finger for as long as I like. And I can spin them with any finger of either hand

I always wonder if there was any worthy challenger who could beat me in it. Fortunately or unfortunately, I have yet to meet a tough opponent. I have a glorious unbeaten record like Floyd Mayweather Jr.

So if you or anyone whom you know have a similar talent, please approach me and I'll make sure you lose until you call me master. Just kidding. But you will lose anyway

25 Sep

Went to Queensway Shopping Centre with Wai Yuen yesterday. He also needed to return the book which he borrowed from me which I borrowed from the school library and it is due soon

I wanted to buy a new pair of boots for my soccer competition. In the end, as expected, I didn't buy anything.

I wanted to buy the red-white Adidas Predator but every single shop which I entered were out of stock. Except for one where the salesperson said the stocks haven't arrived

Thought of purchasing the yellow-white one instead but as a very "idealistic and perfectionist" consumer, I decided not to be so easy-going. You can try me but I am quite a difficult person to persuade buying

After nearly one hour of useless shopping where we asked the same question at every shop and got the same reply from them, we decided to head over to Anchorpoint

We rested at a dessert store to relax our legs. Later, we headed down to Singapore Pools because Wai Yuen need to satisfy his weekly gambling needs. He forced me to share with him a $2 SCRATCHIT ticket. I paid 50 cents, he paid $1.50

Each of us scratched one of the two lucky numbers. It was my first time playing (or scratching) this stupid thing and I struck one of the numbers. It was only $2 but better than nothing.

Unlucky Wai Yuen didn't struck anything. So we ended up queuing up again to get back the $2 we paid. I think I got back the same 50 cents coin I used to buy the ticket.

I walked him to the bus stop and after he boarded the bus, we both realized something was wrong. I forgot to take the book from him! It's still in his bag! Stupid us. We really fit the description of great minds think alike

I still managed to get the book back as he alighted at the next stop, wasting 71 cents while I sweat like hell walking all the way there and back.

F1

Tomorrow is September 26. The day Typhoon Kestana invaded Southeast Asia one year ago. For this year, September 26 marks the third F1 night race in history

It is only the third time and I am already starting to get sick of it. Pop stars flock to Singapore for some F1 concert, roads in Marina Bay area being blocked for the umpteen time and a white-haired, 79 year-old man named Bernie Ecclestone is in town again

But since it is an annual event, I might as well join in the fun and these are my predictions

Race Winner-Driver (Event 5103, Bet Type: 61)

1st: Jenson Button (Selection No.: 01, $11)
2nd: Fernando Alonso (Selection No.: 08, $4)
3rd: Mark Webber (Selection No.: 06, $4)

Sebastian Vettel looks like the hot favourite but I think he still lacks some experience. Lewis Hamilton is too cocky so I decided not to pick him even though he's the defending champion of this race. Felipe Massa looks off-form currently.

I chose Button purely by guessing. Webber would prove to be a tough opponent as his car is more suited for Singapore's circuit. Alonso will lose the race to Button by just a fraction

Property Advertisement

I found this brochure outside my house today. Since the advertisement looks quite grand, my hands started to get itchy and I picked up my handphone

I dialled the number of the guy on the left as his face looks more professional and property agent-like. Just when I thought how his voice would sound like, the line was disconnected. He hung me up! Oh, that idiot, potential customer you also don't want

So I called the other guy on the right and he answered my call. I asked what floor was the unit at and he told me nine. Nine? Nine doesn't seem very high (as stated in the brochure) to me for Block 364 in Clementi

I had to continue acting like a real buyer so I enquired if its a corner unit and if its near the lift kind of stuff. The guy said he'll be in overseas tomorrow so I need to call his colleague if I am going to the open house

Yeah, wait for your colleague to return my call first

Planner

I have never lived my life with the help of an organizer. Something like you write down what/where are you going which days of a week. The only schedule which I followed was my school timetable

But for now, I think there should be a change. I need a notebook or at least a piece of paper to pen down what I need to do. I have been experimenting this (actually I have done lots of experiments) during the holidays and life seems to be better off with a planner than without one

Besides having a plan for the day, it also keeps you occupied, making the day productive and fruitful. Provided the things you did were productive. The food which you eat will also taste better somehow

So if you had been living a freestyle life like me in the past, why not have a change too? Nothing is impossible. Even 4D also ever open 0000

Pineapple Promfet

For today, I am gonna showcase the erm, culinary side of me

I had come up with a recipe from some inspiration which I got somewhere and with some brainstorming. I am no cookery book author so the lingo used here might not be appropriate. Well, as long as you can understand, that is good enough

Steamed fish always looks boring where it is just a fish on a plate with some ginger on it. Here's my version of steamed fish. PP. Pineapple Promfet

Ingredients. You freaking need all of the below

1 white promfet (please don't tell the fishmonger you want a Prophet)
1 small pineapple
Few slices of ginger (about 4 will do)
Salt (Little bit)
Sugar (Little bit also)
Starch (means flour mixed with water)
Coriander (yeah, I think that's its English name)

Steps. You freaking need to follow them accordingly

1. Slice out both sides of meat from the fish

2. Use the remaining fish skeleton to cook the broth for 45 minutes

3. Steam the 2 slices of fish with ginger for 6-7 minutes depending on the broadness of the meat

4. Cut out a rectangular-shaped block from the pineapple. Thickness about 2cm.

5. Pan-fry the pineapple until it turns golden-brown. Add some sugar on it when frying

6. Place the 2 slices of fish with the pineapple to form an equilateral triangle whereby the pineapple is the base

7. Use fish broth to make gravy

7.1 Add salt, sugar to the broth. Boil over large fire.

7.2 Pour in starch bit by bit when it starts to boil

8. Pour gravy over the fish

9. Garnish with coriander

4minute player

You might have heard of the South Korean girl group 4minute. Yes, the one who sings hot it hot it i-i-i-i-i-i issue. Today was my team's first match of the EEE soccer league (opening game) and that was the amount of time I lasted on the pitch

Definitely one of the fastest players ever to step in and out of the field and it's not because of injury or red card. All thanks to my shoe. The outsole peeled off and pissed me off. I was running when all of a sudden, I felt that there was something weird at my left foot

I signalled Melvin to substitute me and just sat at the side until the referee blew the final whistle. Before I forget, you must be wondering what was the score. We won 2:0. I thought we could have won 5:0 if the forwards were more clinical

We missed lots of chances, the opposing team created lots of drama with their feints and the match looked as though it will only end tomorrow morning. I am perfectly satisfied with my team's performance although I only made a cameo appearance

Ok, at least I managed to last longer than 4minute's Hot Issue the song

Mid-Autumn Festival

Mid-Autumn Festival is around the corner. So comes to your mind first? If you're narrow-minded, it's definitely that pastry called Mooncake. If not, then maybe its the "very very circle" moon which will be hanging quietly in the sky when nightfall arrives

Actually, this festival is not only celebrated by the Chinese. The Vietnamese also commemorate this occasion

Vietnam-version mooncakes are usually square instead of round. Also, lion dances are a must-have during this period. Something similar to Chinese New Year where the lion visits houses to dance. Oh yes, and they do have lanterns too.

Alright, after some informative general knowledge, it's time to get shallow and senseless! The Mid-Autumn Festival rap by me, or whatever you call it

Yo yo, why is the moon so so round round?
Why? It's Chang'er, can't you hear the sound?
Chang'er simi lang?
Omg, she's a diety lah, ahbang!
Wow, so she make the moon so round round?
No lah, because of Mid-Autumn is around
it's the only time when mooncakes are found

Ya la, so the moon so round
Huh? what you mean so round
Aiyah never mind, it's just so round
Eh, what round or not so round?

Shut up lah and eat your mooncake
Ok lor, eating it keeps me awake
Of course, I bought from Da Zhong Guo
Da Zhong Guo is from China?
No lah, stupid. In Chinatown

Eh let's go play lantern together
ask more people come, more the merrier
don't forget Peter and Eric
make sure we play until like lunatic
but please be careful of fire
don't end up police come to enquire

Tomorrow ah tomorrow
remind me to buy pomelo
although I rather buy durian
but once in a year so I bo pian

Is Michael Jackson on the moon?
Of course no lah why you so goon?
He can go there do moonwalk
Chang'er watch already confirm go stalk
Rabbit see also want to walk
but he end up like doing duckwalk

Eat mooncake plus drink some tea
like that then call duality
make sure you drink Chinese tea
please don't go and drink bubble tea
if you can't decide from all that you've seen
how about some Tie Guan Yin?

Celebrate Zhong Qiu with all your folks
and eat mooncakes with double yolks
carry lanterns in the night
make the streets so clear and bright
remember not to point at the moon
or else your ear will start to bleed soon

Man U vs. Liverpool

As you all know or in case you don't know, the Bloody Red rivalry of North West England will return this Sunday. Every Manchester United-Liverpool match is bound to bring back memories of previous matches which the two teams played each other in.

Liverpool's three-game winning streak against the Red Devils came to and end in the last game where the latter came from behind to win 2:1. Excluding the goal which they scored, the Reds looked awful for that entire game.

This Sunday, expect to see a different Liverpool at Old Trafford. There is one man from the away team who has a point to prove.

Fernando Torres is a pale shadow of what he was just 15 months ago. Never mind, a reuniting on the pitch with Man U's Nemanja Vidic may spark the Spanish to transform into a lethal weapon

One good news for Liverpool is that Joe Cole is back from suspension. The bad news is there will be selection headache for manager Roy Hodgson. Maybe Cole will be played as a wing man with Steven Gerrard in the central attacking midfield role

Manchester United will have Wayne Rooney back after he was MIA last week. Expect United to play three central midfielders to control the game. The main battle will be in the middle with both sides boasting quality players

Tip? Liverpool to win 2:1. This is a very biased prediction

Men In White

I bought this book about one year ago and only read it for the first time since two days back.

That's the good thing about a history book. Reading it a year later after its release doesn't make a difference. The start of the story was way back in 1959 when Cyprus gained independence

If one were to read this book, he/she should read it with a clear mind, that is, not having any political views. Just like reading a fashion magazine, all you wanna do is gain knowledge regardless of what the trend is

My impression of the 50s and 60s in Singapore are all black and white. Even if you were to ask me to visualize my grandmother back then, it would be in black and white

Thus, while reading this book, my mind is congested with images that are made of only two colors. Ok, make that three if you include grey

I strongly recommend this book. It is a good choice of entertainment if you are bored but don't wanna use the computer

LG Optimus

Taken from www.theinquirer.net

LG has officially launched its new smartphones today. Both LG Optimus One and Optimus Chic possess Android 2.2 (Froyo) and have numerous Google Mobile Services like Google Voice Search, Google Maps etc.

Obviously, LG is trying to attract potential customers who are buying a smartphone for the first time. Optimus Chic's design follows the Samsung way of sleek and stylish while preserving the same features of Optimus One

Also, the fact that Android is the operating system of the device shows that LG wants to play safe. The increasing popularity of Google's Android makes it a good bet for LG. However, Android Gingerbread, a newer version than Froyo, is poised to be released during year-end so this launch seems a bit too late

I don't think LG will be able to pull this off. Other brands are expected to unveil new phones when the end of the year draws closer. Moreover, it made record loss from the handset market last quarter

These new phones don't look like the revival pill LG needs. Apple's over-hyped and ultra-glorified iPhone as well as HTC will still be the dominant players

Animal Abuse

I have just discovered another reason why human beings are all hypocrites

I am pretty satisfied with the latest addition to my Compilation of Hypocritical Things that Humans do. In case you don't know, it is also my PhD thesis for the Human Psychology and Behaviour course which I'm taking

Anyway, this latest discovery from my research involves not only humans, but animals as well. You can argue that humans are also animals but our species are just too smart to be on par with the rest

Every now and then, you will see or hear of people ill-treating or torturing animals. Erm, I think I would need to list a couple of examples here to better illustrate things. Please continue reading if you are a sadist like me or else skip the next paragraph

Like throwing newborn puppies into a river one after another like how you throw a baseball? Or how about using a baseball bat to whack a cat's head? Maybe just taking something sharp and pierce your.....

Ok, I know most of you can't take it but don't blame me because you had a choice not to read it. What I'm trying to point out here is that there are double standards

To those girls who scream and make a big fuss when their friend posted an animal-being-abused video on Facebook and tagged them in it so that there will be lots of comments, you people are so fake

It is perfectly alright for you to KILL a mosquito with a clap of your hands. It is also absolutely acceptable for your boyfriend to smack a cockroach to DEATH because it is indirectly harassing you with its presence

So where do we draw the line? Aren't cats and dogs, mosquitoes and other insects all animals? So an animal deserves to get tortured/killed because it is not as adorable as the others?

Therefore, if your friend ever shares with you a video of a cruel owner and her pet, don't be quick to post comments like "she's a !@#$%" or "how can he do such a thing?". Unless, you swear that you are really kind to every single animal in this world

I am not saying it is right to torture animals but do take a look at yourself in the mirror before talking. That is why the smartest animal species is also the most hypocritical

The latest goalkeeper to join the list of "Most stupid/idiotic goalkeepers around the world"

Actually, I think the biggest idiot was the penalty taker, he looked as though he had won a million dollars when the referee allowed the goal

Don't Burn Quran

Taken from nydailynews.com

Have you heard of Rev. Terry Jones? No? He is the man who spots a thick and rich, n-shaped moustache. Also, he is the leader of a tiny Florida church. And he wants to burn Qurans

Luckily, Jones has "broke his promise" and said that he will not do that after numerous pleas from the US government as well as Muslims all around the world.
Rev. Terry Jones said that if he meets Imam Muhammad Musri who is president of Islamic Society of Central Florida in an expected gathering, he will not start the flames

However, he did not clarify if he will only not burn on that day or was it a permanent decision. Anyway, from my perspective, I think he's just trying to do some advertising for his church. He should understand that unnecessary burning will contribute to global warming

Anyway, the authorities have no power over the happening of this event since it is considered freedom of speech under US constitutional rights

September 11 is here again, memories of the tragedy will return to haunt many. Besides thinking about revenge, do think about this too. Forgive and forget

Warning! Watch this video only if you are above the age of 18!

If you are below 18, kindly seek advice from your parents. This video is purely 100% uncensored as it didn't undergo MDA's inspection. The clip contains real fighting scenes and strong violence that even WWE is no match for it

So for the sake of...ah !@#$ lah, you will still click the play button anyway so here we go. By the way the first 8 seconds is motionless

Young Lions and Beijing Guoan were playing an S League match on Tuesday night. The result of the game was not how many goals were scored but how many people were injured in the brawl which occurred in the 89th minute

From what I saw in the video, I believe that both sides were wrong but Beijing Guoan was still the more aggressive one. Well, the team has a royal flush of PRC players in it. So it is not surprising that these China nuisances brought violence into the beautiful game

China people never fail to irritate native Singaporeans in Singapore. From libraries to void decks to MRTs, the nuisance in public is usually a China man/woman. Now, even football fields are not spared

One question immediately popped up in my mind while I watched how the fight broke out. "What language did the players use to scold each other? English, Mandarin or Malay?"

Judging from their nationalities, English seems quite impossible for Beijing Guoan. China people already have enormous difficulties communicating in English, let alone using it for verbal abuse

So most probably, the expletives hurled around the pitch are a mix of cheena Mandarin, Singlish and Malay.

Like what Wai Yuen said "this is the only time I can see real competition in S League"

Very true indeed but it seems that our Young Lions had lost it. The PRCs won it splendidly but they had thoroughly lost the pride of their country

Wait a minute? What pride? China's reputation is already tarnished

Do you agree with me, Nick?

Australia's new government

Australia has a government at last. With 2 independents jumping onto Julia Gillard's ship, the Labor Party has 76 seats in the 150-seat lower house of Parliament. Too bad to you Tony Abbot, try again next time

I had always preferred Abbot over Gillard. The latter looks very arrogant and gives the impression that she rules with an iron fist. Something similar to Singapore's erhem, you-know-who. Not a bad thing but might not be a good thing either

Gillard's main concerns would be the to lay out the new broadband infrastructure to boost the country's network in rural areas. Taxation of mining companies is also another issue where part of the money will be used for restoration and construction of hospitals

Gillard should be able to maintain peace within her own country and forge good ties with neighbouring countries in the Pacific like New Zealand and Indonesia. Australia's economy should be able to experience a soar

But I still think Abbot can do it better than her

YCG

This post is purely fictitious and written for the purpose of entertainment and humour although some details in it are undeniably cold facts which the doers just don't wanna admit. Never mind, just sit back and enjoy

***

Prior to the first Youth Olympic Games (YOG) which recently took place in a cosmopolitan city off the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula, something similar to this event will happen soon

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) who organizes the Summer and Winter Olympic Games (and is less mercenary than FIFA) came up with a new version of the Olympics exclusively for people aged 14-18 years old

Coming soon, look out for the Youth Cyber Games (YCG)!!!

The World Cyber Games Inc which organizes the World Cyber Games is set to have a brand new version of the annual gaming festival specially for youths

All you have to do is to prove that you are below 18 to be eligible. Smoking, consumption of alcohol, gambling and all other activities under-18 minors are prohibited to do will be banned during the event

All athletes erm, I mean gamers must have at least played one of the following games to be able to qualify for the tournament

They include (try saying them all out at one time) CounterStrike; Warcraft; MapleStory; Street Fighter; Pokemon on Gameboy; Super Mario; Pet Society, Mafia Wars or any lame farming game on Facebook; FIFA/Winning Eleven/Championship Manager; Need for Speed; Red Alert; The Sims; Final Fantasy; Halo; Pac-Man; any Viwawa game; Tetris and last but not least, Snake on your Nokia phone

In the event that a potential participant has never played or heard of any of the above games (which is highly unlikely), he or she can still appeal to join the YCG. He or she just needs to complete 150 hours of gaming within one week to qualify

That is equivalent to only 2.57 hours of rest time daily. Shouldn't be too taxing since youths these days can withstand long hours of non-stop gaming. Electricity, equipment and food will be provided by the committee. Anyone who fails to complete 150 hours will have to pay everything by themselves

There will be a total of 4 categories. Video game console, handheld gaming console, PC and mobile phone games

The specific list of games that will be competed at the YCG has yet to be finalized due to copyright issues. It is rumoured that Warcraft does not want to participate (which will disappoint many gamers) unless World Cyber Games Inc withdraw Starcraft's involvement

This is due to the fact that both games sound similar and a certain cheese brand called Kraft is one of the main sponsors. Although both games are from the same company, Warcraft developers still think that there is a need to draw a line between both of them

Another controversy involves a group of developers of different Gameboy games protesting against Pokemon. They believe that the Pokemon game on Gameboy is time-consuming hence, affecting the schedule of other games

Game Freak and Nintendo have yet to respond to the protests but are believed to issue a statement in a couple of days' time to claim that only fat people play games at a slower rate

Bidding for hosting rights will occur next month and boy, lots of countries are up for the challenge although they have limited funds. This is partly due to Singapore the YOG hosts which exceeded its budget by three times but nobody seems to be at fault so it's ok to overspent after all

Candidates who have confirmed their bids include Nagorno-Karabakh, South Ossetia, Belize, Falkland Islands, Cape Verde, Sierra Leone and Bangladesh. Vatican City is said to be joining in the fun as well

No matter where the event is eventually held or which games will be featured in the tournament, there is one thing to be sure of. It is a kiddy's thing for overaged kids who are below 18. Maybe only kids will be interested in it

VirtualBox

Installed Oracle VM VirtualBox on my laptop yesterday. Looks similar to the VMware Player which I use for troubleshooting Windows Server 2000 except that it has fewer buttons, making the layout look less complicated

VirtualBox boasts a whole lot of operating systems like Mac OS X and Red Hat Linux, the two which I have tried using but encountered difficulties. It also has Solaris, BSD, antiques like Windows 98 and even more primitive antiques like Windows NT

A great tool to play and explore with if you are interested in using alternative operating systems without having to buy a new computer or install that OS

Jap or Kor?

Should I learn Japanese or Korean language?

Seems that the trend now is Kor here Kor there. Korean dramas, Korean athletes, Korean cup noodles, even the artistes/singers who came to Singapore lately are all Korean

Where the hell did the Japanese go to? Even taxis are mostly Hyundai cars now compared to five years ago when Toyota was still the king

What happened to the Japanese pop scene in Singapore? Nobody is talking about Japanese singers anymore except die-hard loyal Ayumi Hamazaki fans maybe. It's all K-Pop everywhere currently

Ok, so back to the topic on the language which I should learn. Considering all the facts and popularity plus Japan's economy has tumbled lately, I think learning Korean is the more practical choice

Then I can finally understand what Super Junior, Wonder Girls, SNSD, T-ara, Kara, Brown Eyed Girls etc. are singing about

Fibre Optics

Yet again, Singapore's three telcos are fighting one another in a new battle. This time, the war started yesterday when new broadband plans were released by them

It was due to the new fibre optic network which will thread through the entire nation (somewhere in the future). My room already has one box which was installed few months ago waiting to be plugged in

To me, those 3-digit speeds being offered is not going to make much of a difference in my life. I don't download movies (like what you all always do), I am not really into online gaming and I prefer watching television programmes on a TV

From my knowledge, there are at least 5 operators coming up with these new plans. However, do not be stupid and subscribe to one now. Prices are expected to drop in the near future when the competition gets tense

Singtel has a $109 plan which offers 200Mbps for downloading. M1 has an astronomical 1000Mbps service that costs an astronomical $399. Only sign up for this one if you run a data centre at home

Fibre optics still looks premature as for now. It is still more practical to stick to copper currently

My $0.02 worth on NS

So it's down to eighteen days. Eighteen more days as a full-time national serviceman, eighteen more days before I am discharged from th...
