Fire on MP

We all know that a Member of Parliament in our country has shot to stardom recently by hurting himself via an accident or on purpose(depends on how you look at it). While he lies in the hospital with bandages and gestures to other MPs who visit him at his ward, RealBlurPolitics® take to the streets to find out what people have to say about this calculated brutal attack. We actually wanted to post a recording but blogger.com does not accept our AMR file, so we had to list it all out

Mr Tan Ah Beng, 58, fishmonger: huh? what seng what thong? don't know lah, I only know Chiam See Thong from Potong Pasir. So old already still don't want retire!

Miss Katherine, 41, tai tai: I think that it is a sad thing to everyone in the country, we should not condone such acts. I hope that he can recover quickly and get back to his job, sorry I need to go for my mahjong session now, i am late, bye

Mrs Mansi, 37, civil servant: it is a pity that he has to stop work and rest in the hospital for several weeks, I am sure he will come back stronger! Please send my regards to him. Oh, you do not know which ward he is in? oh sorry, I thought you people would know

Timothy, 17, student: ermm is anyone gonna bring some magazines or DVDs for him to watch? lie down in the hospital so bored. Make sure don't bring the pirated one hor, or not will kena caught
RBP: so do you recommend any nice ones?
Timothy: actually as long as got no fire in it can liao, or not he might remember his traumatic past

Tian Lai, 35, pilot: I want that stupid old man who burned him to get burnt too, burn his house as well. Anyway, I feel lucky that it is not the MP from my constituency as I need to see him for some money matters. You know lah, now recession mah, need more money

Fazrul, 24, mechanical engineer: sia la, this guy kena something bad for dua times already leh, alamak, where all the bodyguards sia? eh, my muscle a lot leh you see, how about hiring me? the pay good or not ah? Be the bodyguard is it consider as civil servant? If be civil servant can still buy 4D and toto or not?
RBP: .....

Other than people on the streets, we had a couple of special interviews with MPs who do not want to be named due to whatever reasons, of course

An MP who only wanted to be known as Ah Keng and said that he is from a GRC who has the PM's father in it as well believes that it is better to hire some plainclothes officers for MPs as well. He thinks that not only ministers should be "entitled" to have them. "Our nation should be fair to everyone, the finance department oops I mean the finance ministry should come up with some funds to hire bodyguards who can provide us with security, we are already so stressed" He added that he will turn residents down who approach him in public now more frequently to play safe

Another MP whom we spoke to requested us not to mention her name at all or she will sue us for slandering until we end up in jail and destroy all evidence before we can even use them to defend ourselves in court. We decided to play safe and not reveal anything that is related to her. She believes that if the government does not hire bodyguards for them, MPs will have to dig into their own pockets for the funds. "You can see, hear and read many MPs telling the press that they don't need bodyguards, but in fact, inside them they long to have one, two, three all even more. We are all politicians, we usually speak the opposite of what we want, that's our way of life"

Many lessons are learnt from this incident but the most important thing which we have discovered is that thinner is the new kerosene of burning. It produces more heat and maybe damage to the victim. As for costs, we leave it to you to find out
